Tools and Materials Needed:
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Replacement license plate lamp bulb
Step 1: Locate the License Plate Lamp Housing
- Find the license plate light housing on the trunk of your car.
It is usually located at the bottom of the license plate.
Step 2: Pry Open the Lamp Housing
- Carefully insert a flat-head screwdriver into the slot on the side of the lamp housing.
-Gently pry it open.
Step 3: Remove the Old Bulb
- Once the lamp housing is open, you can easily remove the old license plate lamp bulb by gently twisting and pulling it out of the socket.
Step 4: Install the New Bulb
- Take the replacement license plate lamp bulb and insert it into the socket.
- Turn the bulb clockwise until it is securely in place.
Step 5: Close the Lamp Housing
- Snap the lamp housing back into place and secure it properly by pressing it until it clicks into position.
Step 6: Test the New Bulb
- Turn on your headlights and check if the new license plate lamp bulb is working properly.
If the new bulb lights up and illuminates the license plate, you've successfully replaced the license plate lamp on your 1999 E430 Mercedes-Benz.
Remember to dispose of the old bulb responsibly and keep any tools used for the replacement safe.
