1) Remove the spark plugs. This will help make the engine easier to turn.
2) Pull the clutch lever in and hold it in. This will disengage the transmission, making the engine easier to rotate.
3) Rotate the crankshaft until you see the timing marks. The timing marks are usually found on the camshaft and the cylinder head.
4) Use a wrench to loosen the camshaft tensioner. The camshaft tensioner is usually found on the side of the cylinder head.
5) Slowly rotate the crankshaft while keeping an eye on the timing marks. Stop when the timing marks are aligned.
6) Tighten the camshaft tensioner.
7) Replace the spark plugs.
8) Start the engine and verify that the timing is correct.
