- Where there are no rear seats
- When accompanied by a person over the age of 16 years
- If they have a disability that makes it physically impossible to travel in the rear of the car
- If the car has a front-facing child car seat with an integral seat belt
- If the child is at least 135cm tall
You can carry children under the age of 3 years old in the front of a car using a child car seat if there are no rear seatbelts.
