Waymo is a self-driving technology company, formerly known as the Google self-driving car project, that was created by Google in 2009. Waymo is now a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., Google's parent company. Waymo has been a leader in the development of self-driving technology, and in 2018 it began testing its self-driving cars without a human driver on public roads in Phoenix, Arizona. Waymo has also partnered with several automakers, including Chrysler and Jaguar Land Rover, to develop self-driving vehicles.
