What do you if put too much oil in your car?

1. Stop driving: Do not drive your car if you think you have overfilled it with oil. Overfilling can cause the engine to overheat and seize, leading to costly repairs.

2. Check the oil level: Use the dipstick to check the oil level and make sure it is within the recommended range indicated on the dipstick.

3. Drain excess oil: If the oil level is too high, you will need to drain the excess oil. This can be done by removing the oil drain plug, which is usually located at the bottom of the engine oil pan. Be sure to place an oil pan underneath to catch the draining oil.

4. Replace the drain plug: Once you have drained the excess oil, reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely.

5. Check for leaks: After replacing the drain plug, start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Look under the car for any leaks. If you see any leaks, you may need to tighten the drain plug or replace the oil pan gasket.

6. Monitor the oil level: Keep an eye on the oil level over the next few days to ensure that it stays within the recommended range. If the oil level drops below the recommended minimum, you will need to add oil.

Precautions

- Avoid overfilling the oil. Always add oil slowly and check the dipstick frequently to make sure you do not overfill it.

- If you are unsure how to check the oil level or drain excess oil, take your car to a qualified mechanic for assistance.
