1. Check the key fob. Make sure that the key fob is functioning properly and has a fresh battery. Try using a spare key fob if available.
2. Turn the key to the "On" position. This is the second position on the ignition switch, just before the "Start" position.
3. Press and hold the "Unlock" button on the door lock switch. Do this while keeping the key in the "On" position.
4. Wait for the security light to go off. This may take a few seconds.
5. Turn the key to the "Start" position. The car should now start.
If these steps do not work, you may need to have the car towed to a dealer or auto repair shop that is equipped to service the anti-theft system.
Here are some additional tips that may be helpful:
* Try locking and unlocking the car with the key fob several times before attempting to start it.
* If the security light is not going off, there may be a problem with the anti-theft system. Check the fuses and relays related to the system, and make sure that all the connections are secure.
* If you have recently had any work done on the car, it is possible that a sensor or wiring related to the anti-theft system was damaged or disconnected.
