The bill of sale must include the following information:
- The seller's name and address.
- The buyer's name and address.
- The date of sale.
- The make, model, and year of the vehicle.
- The vehicle identification number (VIN).
- The purchase price.
The bill of sale must be signed by both the seller and the buyer.
In addition to the bill of sale, the following documents are also required when selling a vehicle in Pennsylvania:
- The vehicle's title, which must be signed over to the buyer.
- A lien release, if there is any outstanding financing on the vehicle.
- A smog inspection certificate, if the vehicle is more than five years old.
- A VIN inspection certificate, which is available from any inspection station in Pennsylvania.
The buyer must present all of the required documents to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in order to register the vehicle.
