1. Locate the emergency release lever. The lever is located in the trunk lid, near the license plate.
2. Pull the emergency trunk release lever. This will release the trunk lock and allow you to open the trunk.
3. Remove the battery from the trunk. The battery is located in the left side of the trunk, behind a plastic cover.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable. The negative battery cable is marked with a black (-) symbol.
5. Close the trunk lid.
6. Replace the battery.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Test the trunk lock. The trunk lock should now be working properly.
