To charge a Harley Davidson 1200:
1. Connect a trickle charger to the battery; this requires a 12V charger with a 1-2 amp output and a trickle charge mode.
- Turn off the power and ensure that the bike is in neutral.
- Connect the red terminal of the charger to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black terminal to the negative (-) terminal.
2. Plug in and Turn on the charger.
- Set the charger to 2 amps and "motorcycle" or "AGM" mode (if available)
- Start the charging process. Most trickle chargers will automatically switch to a maintenance mode once the battery reaches its target voltage. Leave it on for a minimum of 10 hours.
3. Disconnect the trickle charger safely.
- Turn the power off and unplug the charger. Disconnect the charger's terminals in the reverse order you attached them.
4. Test the battery voltage. Use a multimeter to ensure the battery is fully charged. The battery should read around 12.6 volts or slightly above.
