- A 10mm Allen key
- A flat-head screwdriver
- A new battery (BMW part number 61218390134)
NOTE: You should be sure that you have a new battery on hand
1. First, you need to remove the seat. This is done by removing the two screws on the rear of the seat with the 10mm Allen key.
2. Once the seat is removed, you will see the battery located in the front of the motorcycle.
3. To remove the battery, you need to first loosen the negative terminal (black) with the flat-head screwdriver.
4. Then, loosen the positive terminal (red) with the flat-head screwdriver.
5. Now, disconnect the negative and positive terminals and lift up on the battery.
6. To install the new battery, place the battery into the motorcycle and connect the positive and negative terminals.
7. Ensure the terminals are tight and secure
8. Replace the seat by inserting the two screws into the holes in the rear of the seat and tightening them with the 10mm Allen key.
9. Start the motorcycle to check that the new battery is working properly.
