* Open the gas tank by inserting the key, turning it counterclockwise, and then pulling up the cover.
* The V Star 1100 has two spark plugs, located on the front cylinder and the rear cylinder. You can access the front cylinder spark plug from the ground, but you must remove the seat and fuel tank to access the rear cylinder spark plug.
* Remove the seat by loosening the two bolts at the front of the seat, then sliding the seat back and lifting it off the bike.
* Remove the fuel tank by turning the fuel valve to the "off" position, disconnecting the fuel line, and then loosening the two bolts at the front of the tank. You can then lift the tank off the bike.
* Remove the spark plug cap from the front cylinder spark plug.
* Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head using a spark plug wrench. Be careful not to drop the spark plug into the cylinder.
* Remove the spark plug cap from the rear cylinder spark plug.
* Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head using a spark plug wrench.
* Inspect the spark plugs for wear or damage. Replace them if necessary.
* Reinstall the spark plugs in the cylinder heads.
* Replace the spark plug caps.
* Reinstall the fuel tank.
* Reinstall the seat.
