1. Park the motorcycle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Lift the seat by releasing the seat latch.
3. Remove the side cover on the right side of the motorcycle by removing the screws that hold it in place.
4. Locate the battery, which is held in place by a mounting bracket.
5. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by loosening the nut or bolt that holds the cable in place.
6. Disconnect the positive terminal of the battery by loosening the nut or bolt that holds the cable in place.
7. Remove the battery by lifting it out of the motorcycle.
