1. Park your bike on level ground and turn it off.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal of your battery. This is the black lead. Do this using the crescent wrench.
3. Disconnect the positive terminal of your battery. This is the red lead.
4. Remove the front seat. Remove the bolts on both sides of the seat and lift the seat off.
5. Remove the tank cover. Remove the two screws on the front side of the tank cover and lift the cover off.
6. Remove the battery case cover. This is the plastic cover surrounding the battery. Remove the two screws on the front side of the battery case cover and lift the cover off.
7. Lift the battery straight out of the bike and slide it out of the compartment.
8. To reinstall the battery, follow the steps in reverse order.
