The starter on a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx is located on the
bottom/underside of the engine, typically towards the
passenger side (right side). You'll likely need to get underneath the vehicle to access it. It's usually bolted directly to the engine block. However, the exact position might vary slightly depending on the engine type (3.5L or 3.9L V6).
