* Low fluid levels: The transfer case or differentials might be low on fluid.
* Faulty sensors: Various sensors (speed sensors, axle position sensors, etc.) monitor the 4WD system. A malfunctioning sensor will trigger the light.
* Electrical issues: Wiring problems, a bad actuator motor, or a failing control module can cause the light to come on.
* Mechanical problems: Issues within the transfer case, such as a broken component, could be the culprit.
* Binding components: Something in the drivetrain might be binding, preventing proper 4WD engagement.
You should not continue driving with the "Service 4WD" light illuminated. Doing so could lead to further damage to your 4WD system. Have your Trailblazer inspected by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible to diagnose and repair the problem. They'll use a scan tool to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that will pinpoint the source of the issue.
