* Speedometer: Is it reading correctly?
* Tachometer (RPM): Is the engine speed appropriate for the situation? Is it excessively high or low?
* Fuel gauge: How much fuel do you have left?
* Oil pressure gauge: Is the oil pressure within the normal range? (This is especially important)
* Temperature gauge (coolant): Is the engine overheating? (This is also very important)
* Battery/alternator gauge: Is the battery charging properly?
* Any other warning lights: Note any lights that are illuminated, beyond the "check gauges" warning itself.
By checking these gauges, you can get a better understanding of what might be wrong with your Dodge van and whether it's safe to continue driving. If any gauge reading is outside the normal range or if you see a warning light, you should stop driving as soon as it's safe to do so and investigate the problem.
