Here's how to check for lighting possibilities:
* Tail Lights: Your truck's tail lights illuminate the bed area to some extent. These turn on automatically with the headlights or parking lights. If you're looking for more light, this is already a built-in option.
* Dome Light: The interior dome light in your extended cab likely has a switch to turn it on. Some models allow you to adjust the duration of it staying on when the door is opened. You can use this to illuminate the cargo area (albeit indirectly).
* Aftermarket Lights: It's possible someone added aftermarket cargo lights to the truck at some point. These would have their own switch, often near the fuse box or under the dash. Check for any additional switches that don't obviously correspond to other vehicle functions.
* Bed Lighting Kit: Some Ford Rangers came with optional bed lighting packages. If yours did, there might be a dedicated switch, perhaps near the light switch or even integrated into the overhead console. Look carefully in the cab for any unmarked switches.
If you can't find any switches, the truck likely doesn't have dedicated cargo lights. You'll need to rely on the tail lights and dome light, or consider installing an aftermarket lighting kit.
