A battery electric vehicle is the simplest form of electric vehicles (EV): a battery feeds an electric motor to drive the car.
The car is refuelled by plugging it into either a power point or dedicated EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment). Note that charging is faster when plugged into a dedicated EVSE. The battery is also recharged in part through regenerative braking.
Best known Australian examples are the Tesla Models S and X, Nissan Leaf, BMWi3
