The voltage regulator on a 1986 Honda Prelude is integrated into the alternator. Unlike older cars where it was a separate component, Honda (and many other manufacturers) started integrating the voltage regulator directly into the alternator in the mid-1980s. Therefore, you won't find a separate voltage regulator unit. If you're having charging system issues, the alternator itself is the likely culprit.
