When will hover cars be available?

There's no single answer to when hover cars, in the sense of vehicles that truly hover using technology like magnetic levitation (maglev) or anti-gravity (which doesn't currently exist), will be widely available. The technology for widespread, practical use is still largely theoretical or in very early stages of development. We're talking decades, not years, away from anything resembling the hovercars depicted in science fiction.

While some companies are experimenting with technologies that might *eventually* contribute to a form of "hovering" vehicle (like electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft), these are not true hovercars. They're more akin to advanced helicopters or drones, requiring significant infrastructure and posing challenges related to safety, noise, and regulations. They're likely to appear sooner than true hovercars, but even their widespread adoption is still years, if not decades, away.
