Are automotive batteries 6 amp or 2 amp?

Automotive batteries are neither 6 amps nor 2 amps. Those numbers refer to the *rate* of current draw (in amperes), not the battery's capacity. A car battery's capacity is measured in Amp-hours (Ah) or milliamp-hours (mAh) and is typically much larger, ranging from around 40 Ah to 100 Ah or more, depending on the size and type of the battery. The battery can deliver many amps for a short period (like cranking a starter motor), but the Ah rating indicates the total amount of energy it can supply.
