How can two car makers Chevy GMC both name a vehicle Suburban?

Chevy and GMC are both brands under the same parent company, General Motors (GM). Therefore, they can both use the "Suburban" name because GM owns the trademark and licenses its use to both brands. It's essentially internal branding within a single corporate entity.
