Dodge 1500 truck air conditioner drains inside of truck?

If your Dodge 1500's air conditioner is draining inside the truck, the drain line is clogged. The condensate (water) from the AC system isn't draining properly to the outside. This is a common problem.

Here's what you should do:

* Locate the drain: The drain line is usually located behind the glove box or under the passenger-side dash. It's a small tube or hose. You might need a flashlight and possibly some tools to access it fully. Consult your owner's manual for the precise location.

* Check for clogs: The most likely cause is a clog in the drain line. This can be debris, mold, or algae. Try using compressed air (low pressure!) to blow out the line from the inside of the vehicle towards the outside. A small flexible pipe cleaner or even a thin wire might also help dislodge the clog. Be careful not to damage the line.

* Clean the drain: If compressed air doesn't work, you might need to access the drain more directly and clean it with a small brush or by flushing it with water. Again, consult your owner's manual or search online for videos showing how to access the drain specifically for your year and model of Dodge 1500.

* Check the evaporator core: In rare cases, a leak in the evaporator core can cause excessive water buildup. This is a more serious problem requiring professional repair.

* Professional help: If you're uncomfortable working on your vehicle's AC system, it's best to take it to a qualified mechanic or AC specialist. They have the tools and expertise to diagnose and fix the problem correctly.

Important Note: Before attempting any repairs, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts. Always use caution when working under the dashboard.
