Can all types of vehicles take flex fuel?
Not all vehicles can take flex fuel. Flex fuel vehicles (FFVs) are specifically designed to run on either gasoline or a blend of gasoline and ethanol (E85). To use flex fuel, a vehicle must have a flexible fuel sensor and a computer that can adjust the fuel injection and ignition timing to accommodate the different fuel blends. In addition, the fuel system must be compatible with ethanol, which can corrode some materials. For these reasons, not all vehicles can take flex fuel.
