1. Park the car on a level surface. Turn off the engine and apply the parking brake.
2. Locate the fuel drain plug. It is located on the bottom of the fuel tank, near the front of the car. The fuel drain plug is usually a black or silver plastic cap.
3. Use the flat head screwdriver to pry off the fuel drain plug cap. Be careful not to lose the cap.
4. Place the funnel into the fuel drain plug opening.
5. Use the pliers to loosen the fuel line clamp. The fuel line clamp is located on the fuel line, near the fuel drain plug.
6. Pull the fuel line off the fuel drain plug. Be careful not to spill any gas.
7. Allow the gas to drain into the gas can.
8. Once the gas has drained, reattach the fuel line to the fuel drain plug and tighten the fuel line clamp.
9. Replace the fuel drain plug cap.
10. Start the engine and check for leaks.
