1. Park your car on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Locate the transmission adjuster plugs on the side of the transmission. There will be two plugs, one for the shift linkage and one for the selector rod.
3. Remove the plug for the shift linkage. You may need to use a wrench to loosen the plug.
4. Insert a 3/8-inch hex wrench into the hole and turn it clockwise until the transmission shifts into first gear.
5. Tighten the plug for the shift linkage.
6. Remove the plug for the selector rod.
7. Insert a 1/4-inch hex wrench into the hole and turn it clockwise until the transmission shifts into second gear.
8. Tighten the plug for the selector rod.
9. Test the transmission by shifting through all of the gears. The gears should shift smoothly and easily.
