Where is the Kia Rio 2005 fuel pump?

The fuel pump for the Kia Rio 2005 can be found inside the fuel tank. To access the fuel pump, you must remove the rear seat and then remove the fuel tank.

Here are the steps on how to remove the rear seat and fuel tank to access the fuel pump:

1. Remove the rear seat bottom cushion by pulling up on the front edge of the cushion.

2. Remove the rear seat back by unbolting the two bolts at the bottom of the seat and then lifting the seat up and out.

3. Locate the fuel tank access cover on the bottom of the car, just in front of the rear axle.

4. Remove the fuel tank access cover by unscrewing the four screws that hold it in place.

5. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel tank by pressing down on the release button and pulling the line off.

6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump by pressing down on the release tab and pulling the connector off.

7. Remove the fuel tank by unbolting the two bolts that hold it in place and then carefully lifting the tank out of the car.

8. The fuel pump is located at the bottom of the fuel tank. To remove the fuel pump, you must remove the fuel pump retaining ring by using a screwdriver to pry it up.

9. Once the fuel pump is removed, you can replace it with a new one.

Note: When installing the new fuel pump, be sure to install the fuel pump retaining ring correctly. If the ring is not installed correctly, the fuel pump could come loose and cause a fuel leak.
