1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the freeze plug on the side of the engine block. It is usually located near the bottom of the block, on the driver's side.
3. Remove the freeze plug by using a socket wrench.
4. Insert the block heater into the freeze plug hole.
5. Tighten the block heater with the provided gasket and bolt.
6. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
7. Fill the cooling system with coolant and check for leaks.
8. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the coolant and ensure the block heater is working properly.
