1. Open the hood of your vehicle.
2. Locate the engine block, which is usually covered by a black or gray plastic cover.
3. Remove the engine cover by unlatching the clips or bolts that hold it in place.
4. Once the engine cover is removed, you will see the oil pan located at the bottom of the engine block.
5. The oil pan is a rectangular-shaped metal pan that is bolted to the engine block and holds the engine oil.
Here are some additional tips for locating the oil pan:
- The oil pan is usually located near the front of the engine block.
- The oil pan will have a drain plug or a filter (or both) that allows you to change the oil.
- The oil pan may be covered in dirt or grime, so you may need to clean it before you can see it clearly.
