2. Locate the black metal box with a hose running to it. This is the air filter housing.
3. There will be multiple bolts or locking tabs holding the housing closed. Use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen and remove the mounting bolts.
4. Once the bolts or locking mechanisms have been removed, pull up on the air filter housing cover.
5. Inside, you will find the air filter. It will be a square, rectangular, or round-shaped object made of paper or foam.
6. Remove the old air filter and carefully inspect it for damage or dirt. If it is damaged or heavily soiled, replace it with a new one.
7. Place the new air filter into the housing, ensuring it is properly seated.
8. Replace the housing cover and secure it with the bolts or locking tabs you removed earlier.
9. Close the hood of the vehicle.
