After installing a new battery in 91 Chevy van how do you turn off the alarm?

1. Disconnect the battery again.

2. Wait for the security light to go out if it comes on.

3. Reconnect the battery.

4. Try to start the van. If the security light comes back on leave the key in the "On" position, do not start the vehicle.

5. After a few minutes the security light should go out and you'll hear a beep.

6. Start the vehicle and test the security system.
