What should you do if are driving and see an emergency vehicle with flashing lights behind you?

If you see an emergency vehicle with flashing lights behind you, pull over to the right side of the road as soon as it is safe to do so and stop your vehicle. Turn on your hazard lights and wait for the emergency vehicle to pass.

Here are some additional tips:

* Do not stop in the middle of the road or in a traffic lane. This could create a hazard for other drivers and emergency vehicles.

* If you are unable to pull over to the right, signal and pull over to the left as far as possible. This will give the emergency vehicle room to pass.

* Stay in your vehicle until the emergency vehicle has passed. Do not get out of your vehicle or approach the emergency vehicle.

* If you are involved in an accident, stay at the scene and call 911. Do not leave the scene of the accident until the police have arrived.
