In a battery, the anode is the negative electrode. During battery discharge, the negatively charged ions that accumulate in the negatively charged electrode are called negative ions or anions. As a result, in normal use. the negative electrode of a voltaic cell or primary battery, or the negative active material of a cell or storage battery are referred to as anodes of this type.
Cathode:
In a battery, the Cathode is a positive electrode or the terminal of an electrolytic cell through which the conventional current.
Positively charged ions migrate in an external circuit. The terminal or active material is an example of a cathode because positively charged metal or hydrogen ions travel away when that type of electrode serves as part of a device in the discharging modes during its normal operation in electrochemical cell reactions are called cations as in an electrolytic or voltaic.
