Will airbags deploy when the car is off?

Airbags typically do not deploy when the car is off. Airbags are designed to inflate when a vehicle experiences a significant impact, such as a collision. The force of the impact triggers a sensor that sends a signal to the airbag control unit, which then deploys the airbags. If the car is off, the airbag control unit will not be powered and therefore cannot deploy the airbags.

There are some exceptions to this rule. Some vehicles may have a feature that allows the airbags to be deployed even when the car is off. This feature is typically designed for situations where the car is involved in a collision while it is parked or when the driver is incapacitated and unable to turn the car on. However, this feature is not standard on all vehicles, so it is important to consult the owner's manual to determine if your vehicle has this capability.
