1. Unlock the vehicle.
2. Locate the hood release lever. It is located on the driver's side footwell, near the door sill.
3. Pull the hood release lever. This will release the hood latch.
4. Stand in front of the vehicle and grasp the hood. Lift the hood up until it reaches a 45-degree angle.
5. Locate the hood prop rod. It is located on the driver's side of the engine bay, near the windshield.
6. Insert the hood prop rod into the hole on the hood. This will prop the hood open and keep it from closing.
