Will a 2001 BMW Ci engine fit in 2002 xi?

The 2001 BMW Ci has two engines available:

- M54B25 2.5 L SOHC I6.

- M54B30 3.0 L SOHC I6

The 2002 xi only came with an M54B25 I6 Engine.

While possible in theory to put the new engine in, the different engines may make it an extremely complicated process.
