To access the battery of a 2000 Jaguar XJ8, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Open the hood of the car.

2. Locate the battery cover on the right side of the engine compartment.

3. Remove the battery cover by pressing down on the two release tabs and pulling it up.

4. Disconnect the negative (black) battery cable by loosening the nut that connects it to the battery terminal.
