Skoda enlists the help of cute robots to promote latest EV

Czech carmaker Skoda has enlisted the help of two super-cute robots to help push the new Enyaq iV electric car.

Given the names Purr and Grrr, the pair can be seen in the TV ad and associated campaign trying and failing at several jobs before ending up in the Skoda factory, where they work together to design the new purely electric model.

According to Kirsten Stagg, UK head of marketing, the campaign aims to dramatise the two sides of the Enyaq, adding “It’s the most important car in our history and we set ourselves bold ambitions for both creativity and memorability for this launch.”

So what do we know about Purr and Grrr? Well, according to Skoda, the sibling robots represent both side of the Enyaq iV, with Purr the gentle and caring one and Grrr impassioned and creative.

About the Skoda Enyaq iV

The much anticipated ev SUV is the carmaker’s first purpose-built electric SUV and is based on the Vision iV concept car seen in 2019. From launch, the range consists of two model variants; Enyaq iV 60 Nav and Enyaq iV 80 with 62kWh and 82kWh battery packs respectively. Skoda has also announced that the model is available in a choice of six design options; Loft, Lodge, Lounge, Suite, ecoSuite and SportLine.

Based on VW’s MEB modular platform the Enyaq iV is a close cousin of the Volkswagen ID.4 SUV – which isn’t a bad thing! And if that isn’t enough Euro NCAP has also confirmed that the Enyaq iV comes with a five-star safety rating.
