How do you jump a 2006 Honda Shadow Aero battery?

To jump a 2006 Honda Shadow Aero battery, you will need the following items:

* A set of jumper cables

* Another 12-volt battery

* A wrench or socket set

NOTE: When jumpstarting a fuel injected motorcycle, it is a good idea to keep the battery of the donor bike running or you could risk frying your electronic ignition.

Instructions:

1. Park the vehicles so that their batteries are close to each other. Turn off both engines.

2. Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on both batteries. The positive terminals are typically marked with a red cover or a "+" symbol, while the negative terminals are marked with a black cover or a "-" symbol.

3. Connect one end of the positive (red) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.

4. Connect the other end of the positive (red) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the working battery.

5. Connect one end of the negative (black) jumper cable to the negative terminal of the working battery.

6. Connect the other end of the negative (black) jumper cable to a metal part on the frame of the motorcycle with the dead battery, not the negative battery terminal.

7. Start the engine of the working vehicle and let it run for a few minutes.

8. Try to start the engine of the motorcycle with the dead battery.

9. If the motorcycle starts, let it run for a few minutes before disconnecting the jumper cables.

10. Disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse order that you connected them.

NOTE: After you have jump-started your Shadow, let it run for at least 20 minutes or put the bike on a charger to prevent the battery from dying again.
