Accessing the battery:
- Remove the rear turn signal assembly.
- The turn signal assembly covers some of the bolts attaching the seat.
- Locate the two black Phillips head screws at the front (near the handlebars) of the passenger seat base.
- Be sure not to drop the screws into the frame!
- Remove the screws.
- Lift the rear of the seat about four inches.
- Reach back and detach the electrical connection for the tail light.
- Continue to lift the seat up until it releases from the two metal pegs behind the latch lever.
- You can now access the battery compartment, it is located under the rider's seat.
To close the seat:
- Align the three pegs (on the bottom of the seat) with the holes in the chassis.
- Lift the seat slightly, about 1-inch.
- Attach the electrical connection for the tail light.
- Continue lifting the seat and push the latch lever to close the seat.
- Reinstall the two screws at the front of the passenger seat base.
- Reattach the rear turn signal assembly.
