The thermostat housing is located on the front of the cylinder block, just below the thermostat housing. It is a black plastic housing with two coolant hoses connected to it.
Tools Required:
- Socket wrench set
- Gasket scraper
Materials Required:
- Replacement thermostat housing
- Thermostat housing gasket
Instructions:
1. Allow the engine to cool completely.
2. Remove the air filter housing.
3. Locate the thermostat housing on the front of the engine block.
4. Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts that secure the thermostat housing to the engine block.
5. Carefully remove the thermostat housing from the engine block.
6. Remove the old thermostat housing gasket from the engine block and the thermostat housing.
7. Install the new thermostat housing gasket onto the engine block and the thermostat housing.
8. Place the thermostat housing back onto the engine block and secure it with the bolts that you removed in step 4.
9. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
10.Reconnect the coolant hoses to the thermostat housing.
11. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
