1. Start the car and let it idle.
2. Fasten your seat belt and close the door on the passenger side.
3. Press the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) button located in the center console. This will turn off the stability control system and enable you to deactivate the airbag.
4. Quickly press and hold the "OFF" button located on the side of the dashboard, next to the passenger seat.
5. The airbag indicator light on the dashboard will illuminate to confirm that the airbag is now off.
Note: The airbag will remain off until the ESP button is pressed again.
It's important to remember that deactivating the passenger airbag should only be done when a child seat or infant carrier is installed in the front passenger seat. Always refer to the vehicle owner's manual for specific instructions on deactivating the passenger airbag in your Mercedes E-class.
