1. Park your car on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your car and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. The dipstick is located on the passenger side of the engine bay, near the back of the engine.
3. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
4. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid fill tube.
5. Pull out the dipstick again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "ADD" and "FULL" marks on the dipstick.
6. If the fluid level is low, add enough fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark.
7. Replace the dipstick and close the hood of your car.
Note: Be sure to use the correct type of transmission fluid for your car. The recommended fluid for a 1999 BMW 328i is BMW ATF 3403 fluid.
