1. Locate the emergency trunk release lever.
- This is usually found in the glove compartment or driver's side footwell.
- There may be a plastic tab or button to press to get it open.
2. Pull the emergency trunk release lever.
- This should release the trunk latch and allow you to open the trunk.
3. If the emergency trunk release lever doesn't work, you may need to use a key.
- This key can be found in the driver's side door lock or in the glove compartment.
- To use the key, turn it 180 degrees clockwise and press it down.
- This should unlatch the trunk.
_Note:_ If you have a car that has a liftback, the process for opening the trunk will be different.
- Locate the emergency trunk release button or lever. It may be located in the passenger side footwell or the trunk itself.
- Pull the emergency trunk release button or lever.
- This should release the latch on the trunk.
- Pull on the trunk handle and lift the trunk up.
