• Park the working vehicle close to the BMW 740I, but do not let them touch.
• Turn off the engine of the working vehicle.
• Apply the parking brake on both vehicles.
• Open the hoods of both vehicles.
• Identify the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on both batteries. The positive terminal is usually marked with a “+” sign or is red, while the negative terminal is marked with a “-” sign or is black.
• Connect one end of one of the jumper cables to the positive terminal of the good battery.
• Connect the other end of the same jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
• Connect one end of the other jumper cable to the negative terminal of the good battery.
• Connect the other end of the same jumper cable to an unpainted metal surface on the BMW 740I, not near the battery. This ensures a proper ground connection.
• Start the working vehicle and let it run for a few minutes.
• Attempt to start the BMW 740I. If it starts, let it run for a few minutes before removing the jumper cables.
• Once the BMW 740I is running smoothly, carefully remove the jumper cables in the reverse order that you put them on.
• Close the hoods of both vehicles.
