2. Turn off the engine and apply the parking brake.
3. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine compartment, on the driver's side.
4. Pull the dipstick out of the tube and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the tube until it is fully seated.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, add transmission fluid until it reaches the "Full" mark.
8. Replace the dipstick and close the hood.
