Location 1: Engine Bay Fuse/Relay Box:
Open the hood of your Passat.
Locate the fuse/relay box in the engine bay. It's usually a black box with a red release button.
Open the fuse/relay box cover.
The fuel pump relay should be labeled as "Fuel Pump" or "FP" in the fuse/relay diagram provided inside the box cover.
Find the corresponding relay and remove it by gently pulling it out of its socket.
Location 2: Central Electric Control Module (CECM):
If you can't find the fuel pump relay in the engine bay fuse/relay box, it may be located inside the Central Electric Control Module (CECM). The CECM is a larger black box located on the driver's side footwell, usually behind the panel beneath the steering wheel.
Remove the panel beneath the steering wheel to access the CECM.
Open the CECM cover and locate the fuel pump relay. It should be labeled as "Fuel Pump" or "FP."
Remove the fuel pump relay by gently pulling it out of its socket.
