Required tools and a new battery:
Before starting, make sure that you have a suitable replacement battery for your model and the necessary tools, including a wrench and a screwdriver.
>Preparation:
>-Open the bonnet or hood of your Peugeot 307 SW to reveal the engine bay.
> -Locate the battery, which is usually situated on one side of the engine compartment.
> Disconnect Terminals:
> - The battery terminals are typically marked "positive (+) "and "negative (-)."
> -Start by disconnecting the negative (-) terminal. Using the wrench, loosen and remove the nut or bolt connecting the negative terminal to the battery. Always start with this as it will reduce the chances of a spark or short-circuit.
>-Next, disconnect the positive (+) terminal by loosening and removing its corresponding nut or bolt.
> Removing the Battery:
> -Once both terminals are disconnected, you can remove the old battery. It may be held in place by a bracket or clamp, so you might need to unfasten or release it.
>Insert the New Battery:
> - Position the new battery into the battery compartment and ensure that it fits properly.
>-Reconnecting the Terminals:
>-Replace the positive (+) terminal first. Tighten the nut or bolt securely to ensure a good connection.
>-Reconnect the negative (-) terminal by tightening its corresponding nut or bolt.
Double-Check connections:
>-Ensure all the terminals are securely tightened to prevent any loose connections.
Close Bonnet/Hood:
-Close and secure the bonnet or hood once you have completed the battery replacement.
