1. Fully apply parking brake.
2. Push down and hold the button on the brake pedal switch.
3. While holding down the button, pull up on the tab of the brake pedal actuator.
4. Continue holding brake pedal actuator tab up and release the brake pedal switch.
5. Once released, check that the actuator tab drops back into its original position.
6. If tab returns automatically, the brake switch is correctly assembled in actuator arm and no further adjustment is needed.
7. If the tab does not automatically drop into place, proceed with the following steps.
Brake Pedal Actuator
8. Remove the brake switch from actuator.
9. Check actuator for damage to arm, spring, or tab.
10. If the arm on the brake pedal actuator is bent or damaged, rotate actuator arm so it is parallel to spring.
Brake Switch Assembly
11. Insert a .25 inch (.64 cm) pin between spring loops on actuator and actuator arm.
12. Turn switch body until actuator lever tab on switch body locks into place on actuator.
13. Install switch in actuator.
Adjust Brake Pedal Position Switch
1. Insert a .25 inch (.64 cm) pin into hole in actuator between the pin and actuator spring
2. With the brake pedal released, ensure the .25 inch (.64 cm) pin is at the midway point in slot of brake light switch.
3. If the pin is not midway, loosen 15 mm brake light switch mounting bolt and adjust switch up or down. Retighten bolt.
4. Remove the .25 inch (.64 cm) pin.
