1. Open the hood of your car.
2. Locate the air filter housing. It is a black plastic box located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the front of the car.
3. Unlatch the air filter housing cover by pressing down on the tabs on the side.
4. Lift off the cover.
5. Remove the old air filter. It is a rectangular piece of paper or foam located inside the housing.
6. Inspect the old air filter for dirt and damage. If it is dirty or damaged, replace it with a new one.
7. Insert the new air filter into the housing.
8. Replace the cover and latch it closed.
9. Close the hood of your car.
